How often do we look at someone and just compare? Their car, their purse, their coat, their, I don't know, watch. Do people still wear watches? Their achievements. House, job, vacations. Business success.
The whole Keeping Up with the Joneses is a surefire way to never complete anything.
I saw this quote, comparison is the thief of joy, attributed variously to Theodore Roosevelt, Mark Twain, and others. It's so true. We shouldn't and yet here we are, doing it every day on whichever social media you follow. On commercials and in magazine ads.Just as you never know someone's pain unless you walk in their shoes, you don't know what's behind the scenes.
Take your own joy, your own fun, enjoyment, passions, and screw what anyone else is doing or saying.
Easier said than done? Yes. But is it worth it? Oh, yes, definitely!
