Tidbit Tuesday-Egyptian Wooden Locks

I love research. It's so easy to fall down the rabbit hole of stuff, but the Egyptian wooden locks? They fascinate me! I remember my grandfather making wood puzzles when I was young, he had books and books on things to make and in his retirement, he was an avid woodworker.
I wish I'd known about these locks then, I'd have asked him to make me one!

I watched this video dozens of times on these locks, and it's just amazing how it all works together!

In Husband of Convenience, Paul "finagles" a generic unlocking device to break into Kaya's house. She's none too pleased with that, as you can imagine!

Self Care Monday-Confidence

A friend posted this on Facebook in a meme dump thread. I don't know about you, but hate being called out like this! On the other hand, why don't we have the courage of a hamster letting everyone know they have wilty lettuce?

I have no answers, but I shall now step up. I was just telling a co-worker they needed boundaries and it was perfectly OK to speak up and let others know when you needed space. You know what? I need to take my own advice!

Tidbit Tuesday-Sandstorms

Haboob. I adore this word! It's just fun to say even if it means sandstorm, which does not sound fun at all. But the word is. I watched a lot of videos on how a sandstorm envelopes a city. It's crazy. Terrifying and huge and all-encompassing.

This is one I saw of a haboob over Arizona and OMG, it's just incredible!

So in Husband of Convenience, Kaya and Paul are trapped in the eastern mountains along the Sahara during a haboob. Nice intimate moments of enforced conversation and closeness *wink wink*

Self Care Monday-Celebrate your wins!

Self Care Monday-Celebrate your wins! 1

It's simple and it's obvious but how often do you really celebrate yourself?

And no, it doesn't have to be only the big wins. Surviving the day is a perfectly acceptable win as far as I'm concerned!

Finally accomplished that thing you were putting off for 2 weeks? Or finished a project that's been mocking you for 2 months?

Time for a celebration!

We let people tell us it's no big deal. Or, worse, we tell ourselves it's no big deal. Guess what? You're both wrong. It totally is a big deal and we need to celebrate that!

It took me months to clean out my closest. Months. Guess what? It's worth celebrating! Why? Because I did it, it's done, and I'm happy with the results. And even if I wasn't happy with the results? It'd still be worth celebrating because I did it.

And so did you.

Husband of Convenience Mood Board

A dear friend made this for me 🥰🥰and I am in love! It's just perfect!

Kaya didn't want a husband. She wanted travel and adventures and to explore the world previously denied her.

Paul wanted to bury his past and start fresh. Marriage? Well, maybe a fresh start after he broke one more promise.

Except he didn't break that promise and suddenly he found himself married to a woman who wanted nothing to do with him. But atonement dangled before him like the proverbial carrot. And then there was his heart.

Can he convince Kaya their future is worth everything?
